The coniferous aroma, mixed with aromas of cedar, cinnamon, patchouli, clove, mandarin or vanilla, it immediately evokes a warm wave of festive feelings in us. Want to spread this fragrance throughout your home? With this do-it-yourself room spray, every room gets a real Christmas feeling Olga Buravchuk.
“Making room fragrances is very easy. All you need is distilled water and alcohol as a base. After that, you are free to choose which flowers and twigs you want to add. Essential oils are another must-have component as they impart different scents. From spicy to mild, sweet to spicy, the possibilities are endless. For our Christmas spray, we take the “needles” option, because nothing makes us think about Christmas more than the smell of a Christmas tree in our house. You can also add a few drops of tangerine.“.
What you need (for 100 ml homemade spray):
50 ml distilled water
50 ml of alcohol (alcohol is needed in order for the oil to mix with water)
25-30 drops of pure essential oil
Spray bottle (clear so flowers can be easily seen)
Flowers/branches, here we use spruce branches and limonium.
Beaker
Essential oils with a wide variety of scents can be easily ordered online or at a pharmacy. For winter fragrances, cedar, cinnamon, patchouli, pine, clove, mandarin or vanilla are recommended. Here we use pine oil in combination with tangerine oil.
