The student in charge of ElonJet bites Elon Musk again. The billionaire banned him from Twitter because he followed his plane flights. Now the young geek has switched to the Threads app and intends to continue to annoy the billionaire.
The ElonJet app, which tracks Elon Musk’s travels, has become popular again. The tracker’s Jack Sweeney has signed up to Meta Threads and announced the big comeback of the suspended project. The initiative collapsed after Elon Musk himself found out about it.
ElonJet in Metastreams - Cheeky Jack Sweeney Posts Again
ElonJet has flown into Threads! @zuck will you let me stay here?” the @ElonMusksJet account of Mark Zuckerberg innocently asked. Behind him is the same IT specialist who has been a thorn in the eye of Elon Musk for a good few months. Sweeney’s new profile quickly amassed over 13,000 followers, a number that has been steadily rising since the great debut of the Meta social network on Thursday.
The student in his style has already spoken to the media. I hope twitter dies. It’s very hard for me there, it seems that I got a wanted ban. You enter my name and nothing appears,” he said in an Insider comment.
The young man also admitted that so far all entries are made by hand. Threads does not yet have an auto-publish feature. “I would like to shuffle posts on Threads the same way I do on Instagram,” Sweeney added. Interestingly, he failed to get the name @ElonJet, although no one in Threads has yet claimed it.
ElonJet moves from Twitter to Threads - the account has become a star of the Internet
ElonJet’s profile was a Twitter phenomenon until it drew the ire of the richest man in the world. Recall that since 2020, the @ElonJet account has automatically tracked Elon Musk’s private jet using publicly available aeronautical data. The system reported on the takeoff and landing of the aircraft, the length of the route, or even the amount of fuel used and CO2 emissions.
The profile was created by American computer science student Jack Sweeney. His initiative quickly received widespread recognition, and ElonJet gained more than half a million followers. Then Elon Musk decided to spoil all the fun. The billionaire first wanted to pay the student to stop. He offered him $5,000 and Sweeney added one zero to the amount. Then the billionaire got angry.
In the next steps, Musk admitted that ElonJet’s activities are doxing. He then ordered his staff to change the privacy policy of all of Twitter and threatened the profile author with legal action. In December, the account was blocked. Sweeney returned with @ElonJetNextDay but was unable to repeat his first success.
“My commitment to free speech even extends to not blocking my aircraft subscriber account, even if it poses a direct threat to personal safety,” the billionaire wrote earlier. However, he did not keep his word.
