The Messenger and Instagram apps are in big trouble right now. Users have started reporting numerous issues with Meta apps. The outage is still ongoing and we don’t know the official reason for it.
Downdetector - Messenger not working
According to Downdetector’s crash tracker, the problems on Messenger and Instagram started at about the same time and have been going on since about 11:30. The situation with Facebook’s flagship messenger seems to be more serious.
Messenger has been down since around 11:41 a.m. when the islands first reported it. The outage is ongoing as of this writing (approximately 13:00). The majority of users report problems sending photos or messages (69%). Others point to problems with the site’s mobile app (26%). You may also notice differences in the display of chats between the app and the website.
The cause of the difficulty is unknown, but it seems that it may even be a global failure. The problems concern the whole of Poland, other European countries, as well as the USA.
Instagama Crash - Numerous App Difficulties
Instagram users report a lot of problems. Here, reporting began permanently at 11:47, although there are fewer of them than in the case of Messenger. There are difficulties with access to the application, problems with uploading content to the site. The connection to the servers must also be unstable. The application should throw users to the main screen.
Here it seems that the worst may be behind us - the number of crash reports is clearly decreasing since about 12:20.
So far, Meta has not addressed the failure of Messenger and Instagram. However, these are the next problems of the corporation in a relatively short time. The last such difficulty occurred three weeks ago.
