Nearly 60 percent of Radio Zet listeners believe that Poles will benefit from a four-day work week. Adrian Zandberg, co-chairman of the Together party, has no doubts about this.
Together party co-chairman Adrian Zandberg was a guest on Radio Z on Monday. One of the topics of conversation was the issue of reducing the working week. According to a survey conducted by the radio station, less than 60 percent of listeners answered yes to the question: “Will the Poles pay with a 4-day work week?” Nearly 40 percent of the respondents were of the opposite opinion. – Poles will benefit from shorter working hours, and Poles deserve shorter working hours – Zandberg said.
Together with a gradual reduction of working hours to 35 hours.
One of the leaders of the “Together” party recalled that his party proposed to reduce working hours from the current 40 hours to 35 hours. - We want to make it a little more flexible - we will gradually reduce the time to 35 hours in one semester. But decisions about this were made at the bottom, whether it should be 4 days a week or 35 hours should be spread over 5 days - Zandberg explained in the online part of the broadcast.
When asked if the Poles would be able to earn the same amount after the reduction of working hours, the politician replied: - Yes. We know this from the experience of countries that have reduced working hours. I also talk about our experience here.
Zandberg recalled that in the past, “we reduced the working day from 42 hours to 40 without reducing wages.” – We have a good situation in the labor market, which allows us to move forward along the path of progressive reforms. Poland has a relatively low unemployment rate. If someone wants to cut wages, market forces will make it harder for them to do so. This was announced by the co-chairman of the “Together” party.
