Someone also suggests turning off the camera, which around the clock holds back the life of the Chernogouz family Gritsk, Odarka and five of their hatches. In the comments to the stream (in general, those who are fond of this live show) sometimes there are objections - someone hints that it is not necessary to expose the smallest intimate details of family life to the whole world, up to going to the toilet, and someone says in plain text that the camera may unwittingly reveal the location of Ukrainian air defense systems. Although where those systems in the village of Lelyaki, which took refuge in the swamps on the border of the Poltava and Chernihiv regions, will be taken.

Chernogozki (aka white storks) are not only symbols of Ukraine. They are still considered to be the amulets of the village of Lelyaki near Pyriatyn in the Poltava region. Employees of the Pyryatinsky National Natural Park have been watching storks for 9 years. And 4 of them in the village on a power line pole the stork Gritsko nests. First, he put 3 storks on the wing, then 4, and last year - 5 (the most among the storks of the park’s families).

“The electricians treated the stork family very humanely when they changed the poles. The old man, on which there was a nest with storks, they did not remove. But in the fall of 2021, a strong wind knocked down the nest. Our colleague spoke with the management of the local “Lelyakovskaya cheese factory”, which has a stork on its logo, agreed with them to put a metal base on a pole to pave branches for a new nest - so that Gritsko would return to his old place. At the same time, the idea to launch a restraint arose. In Kharkiv, in February last year, they bought equipment for streaming, but the invasion of rashists prevented the implementation of the idea. In March, they also fixed a base with branches on a pole - war-war, and Gritsko and Odarka will soon have to live somewhere. But then it was not possible to set up a camera - some roads, like to Kyiv, the Russians had already cut, it was just dangerous to drive. The camera spent almost a year in the basement of our Kharkov friend and only recently arrived at the Lelyaki.- told in the park

In March of this year, the camera was still launched. And on March 31, in the nest where Gritsko and Odarka returned, the first egg appeared. And then four more, each through the night. And the chicks also hatched not all together, but also in turn - from May 5th. They haven’t been given names yet, because there’s no way to tell them apart. “That’s when we ring - then‘, the scientists say.

Gritsko, by the way, has already almost made friends with the park staff - he does not run away when he is offered fish, but crushes the gifts in his full beak.

This is not the first stream in the life of storks. There is a similar one in the Czech Republic, Germany, Bulgaria. In Ukraine, they also once did it in one of the reserves of Galicia. But now “Stork Gritsko” is the only Live show of its kind in our country. By the way, this is not just entertainment. The collected video material will be used by scientists and students of the Department of Ecology and Zoology of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv to study the nesting behavior of storks, led by Anatoly Podobailo, part-time researcher at NPP Pyryatinsky
