The band is back! It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia returns for a historic 16th season next month. To celebrate, a new teaser has been released that perfectly describes the main characters and showcases some of the season’s guest stars.
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is a hilariously chaotic series about five narcissistic bar owners who have the real ability to ruin the lives of everyone around them. Despite being ignored by critics and awards, which the show itself pokes fun at, the series is a huge success with viewers, has become the longest-running sitcom and has already been renewed for an 18th season. TV series stars Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton, Charlie Day, Caitlin Olson, And Danny DeVito. McElhenney also created the series and serves as an executive producer and writer along with Howerton and Day.
The teaser begins with Howerton’s Glenn asking, “What’s the first word that comes to mind when you try to describe us?” The trailer then cuts to various clips to give us words like “idiotic”, “nasty”, “crazy” and more. All the words that the fans know perfectly describe the characters. We also see some interesting guest stars in this set of adjectives. First Jimmi Simpsonwho returns to the series for the first time since the 9th season, and the other - Rhea PerlmanDeVito’s real-life ex-wife, making her first appearance on the show.
What else can fans expect from the new season?
Season 16’s official synopsis teases exactly what fans love and expect, social commentary and crazy recurring characters. It says:
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia returns with a record-breaking Sweet 16 season. The gang rips straight out of the headlines as they yearn for the past and try to get through the year, navigating 2023 with 16 years of baggage and a few figures from their past rearing their heads.
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia The new episodes will premiere on FXX in the US and will be available to stream on Hulu the next day. The episodes will go direct to Disney+ in the UK and Star Plus in Latin America.
