In Kyiv, there was a robbery attack on a woman, as a result of which she was badly injured and lost a large amount of money.
This was reported to the Metropolitan Police.
According to the cops, everything happened on the day when the victim received funds for the sale of the apartment. The attacker went after the woman and sprayed her with tear gas in the entrance of the house and took 27,000 US dollars.
The attack took place in the Shevchenkovsky district of the capital on Parkovo-Syretskaya Street.
“The applicant told us that she had come from abroad to sell housing in the capital. Because of her acquaintances, she found potential buyers, concluded a contract for the sale of a house and, with the proceeds, went home with her relative. After them, an unknown person came into the entrance of the house and suddenly sprayed tear gas in her face, took money in the amount of 27,000 US dollars buried under her clothes and set fire to her hair with a lighter. The woman immediately started calling for help and reported the attack to the police.”the police said in a statement.
Law enforcement officers conducted a set of search activities and interviewed likely witnesses and eyewitnesses of the incident. As a result, during the day, the operatives detained the attacker in the Vinnitsa region.
The defendant turned out to be a 30-year-old Vinnitsa resident, previously convicted of property crimes. The police seized some of the money, a spray can and other material evidence from him.
He faces up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
As part of the pre-trial investigation, the police check the involvement of the offender in the commission of other criminal offenses and identify alleged accomplices of the detainee.
