PZPN has long delayed the decision on the future of Czesław Mihnevich as head coach of the Polish national team. In the end, Cesarii Kulesha finally announced what would happen with the coach.
On January 31, Czesław Mikhniewicz officially became the coach of the Polish national team after the departure of Paulo Souza. “I bet on Czesław Mikhnevich, who has the right qualities and experience to lead the national team in the fight for the World Cup,” PZPN President Cesarii Kuleša said after the announcement, adding that the coach convinced him to make this decision with his specific plan.
The President of the PZPN set three goals for Cheslav Mihnevich. First, he had to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar, beating first Russia and then Sweden in the playoffs, and when he managed to get to the World Cup, his goal was to get out of the group. The last of the assumptions was the preservation of the Polish national team in Division A of the League of Nations.

All these goals were achieved by the coach, which should give him relative peace of mind regarding the future in the Polish national team. However, during this World Cup, scandals such as bonuses from the government and conflicts with players appeared from time to time. The coach denied these reports, saying that nothing happened, his relationship with the players was correct and there were no disagreements between them.
However, the reality may be completely different, because, according to the unofficial conclusions of Przemysław Langer from the target.pl portal, several leaders of our team issued an ultimatum to the president of the PZPN Cesariy Kuleša himself. They threatened that if the current coach continues to lead the Polish national team, they will leave it.
Judgment against Cheslav Mikhnevich
Ultimately, Cesarij Kulesza decided that Czesław Mihniewicz would cease to be the head coach of Poland at the end of his contract, which expires on December 31, 2022. The Polish Football Association announces that from December 31, 2022, Czesław Mihniewicz will cease to be the head coach of the Polish national team.
“However, in order to properly assess the work of the coach, we had to take into account other key issues, such as a perspective on the future functioning of the national team and the direction of its development. That is why, after many meetings and reviews, we have made the difficult decision to end our cooperation,” explains Cesar Kulesha.

The President of the Polish Football Association, Cezary Kulesza, posted a note on his Twitter thanking Czesław Mikhniewicz. “Coach, thank you for 11 months of work with the Polish national team,” he wrote.
At the same time, PZPN reports that the process of selecting a new coach will begin shortly. - We want the national team to be led by a coach who guarantees its development and achievement of its goals. The new coach should also improve the image of the national team and restore the confidence of the fans, according to Cesar Kulesha.
Potential candidates include Herve Renard, Andriy Shevchenko, Nenad Belica, Paulo Bento, Claudio Ranieri, Domenico Tedesco and Andrea Pirlo. Recently, Piotr Kozmiński of WP Sportowe Fakty revealed that former Real Madrid manager Juan Ramón López Caro has also applied for PZPN.
