In Kyiv, a man was detained who tried to rape a minor child.

It is reported that the other day the Darnitsa police department received a message about the depraved actions of an unknown man against a 12-year-old boy in a public toilet on the territory of the Partizanskaya Slava park.

An investigative-operational group of the territorial police department left for the scene.

The boy was relaxing with his parents in a local park. At about 20 pm the child went to the restroom, which was located nearby. At this time, an unknown person came after him, forced the minor into a booth and tried to rape him.

At the cries of the child, a passer-by ran in and knocked out the door of the booth. The eyewitness held the malefactor and handed over to law enforcement officers.

The rapist turned out to be a 43-year-old resident of Kiev with no previous convictions. He was informed of “an attempted rape committed against a person under the age of fourteen, regardless of his voluntary consent.”

The court decides on the choice of a measure of restraint for the defendant. The suspect faces up to fifteen years in prison.
