The Ministry of Social Policy said that the indexation of pensions and the provision of subsidies will continue in 2024, despite the full-scale war with the Russian occupiers.
In particular, Deputy Minister of Social Policy Daria Marchak stated that next year it is planned to increase pensions.
She stressed that the accruals are made to all Ukrainians who are entitled to them. Payments can be made through the electronic office of the Pension Fund and through the state platform Action.
If a citizen has reached retirement age abroad, he can apply to the consulate. Marchak recalled the innovations - video communication with the Pension Fund. She also stressed that the indexation of pensions is expected on the traditional date of March 1. But it is possible to determine the timing of indexation only after the approval of the state budget. The amount of the increase depends on the level of inflation.
“The amount of indexation and the growth rate of average wages are two indicators that determine the amount of indexation in accordance with the law. It will be possible to talk about this at the beginning of 2024 after the receipt of statistical data for 2023,” the official explained.
The state fully fulfills its obligations to pay pensions to Ukrainians living in the temporarily occupied territories and abroad. However, the question is whether a person has the opportunity to physically withdraw money from the card - the Ukrainian authorities cannot influence this yet.
Marchak assured that subsidies for Ukrainians would be maintained.
“Those citizens who have formalized subsidies, no action is required from them. The pension fund automatically transfers the amount of the subsidy, for example, after a tariff increase. If the family income has not changed and the tariffs have increased, then the amount of the subsidy will be automatically transferred so that the family does not pay more for housing and communal services. There will be money, subsidies will be paid, ” - explained the Deputy Minister of Social Policy on the air of “Ukrainian Radio”.
