In Ukraine, where the unemployed are entitled to a subsidy, they changed the procedure for providing assistance for partial unemployment. This decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers, writes social.com.ua.
In accordance with the adopted changes:
• partial unemployment benefit is not provided if a liquidation procedure is opened against the employer or individual entrepreneur, or he admits his inability to timely fulfill obligations to creditors due to the unsatisfactory state of financial and economic activity;
• verification of the intended use of funds can now also be carried out at the employer’s place of business;
• the amendments also define the mechanism for confirming the absence of debts by employers and sole proprietors, insured persons, to the state (local) budget, in particular, in the procedure for exchanging information between the State Employment Service and the State Tax Service.
In total, UAH 226 million will be allocated for partial unemployment benefits this year. It is planned that 21 thousand Ukrainians will use it.
As FACTS wrote, for some Ukrainians, the amount of unemployment benefits may be increased. Such special conditions will apply to Ukrainian citizens who have IDP status and are left without sources of income.
