The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which deprived the mandates of three people’s deputies, supported the law on the use of vehicles equipped with electric motors.
According to LIGA, from 2036 this law prohibits the use of buses with diesel and gasoline internal combustion engines on public transport routes in cities of district and regional significance. Only electric buses, buses with internal combustion engines running on gas, and buses with a hydrogen fuel cell are used. Local authorities may delay this transition, but not more than two years.
The phasing out of air polluting transport will take place in stages. Thus, in cities with a population of more than 250,000, from January 1, 2028, at least 50% of the purchased buses must be electric, methane or hydrogen, and from January 1, 2030, it will be possible to purchase only them (also with the possibility of a two-year delay). ).
It is expected that in 2030 in large cities about 25% of public transport will be electric, hydrogen or methane buses, and in 2033 - 50%.
Recall that in mid-February, all trolleybuses and trams resumed work in Kyiv, which had not worked for some time due to the strikes of rashists on critical infrastructure.
