Pension payments in March this year will be indexed by almost 20 percent.

In practice, the pension for our pensioners will be increased. Because previous years are also taken, the average salary, inflation, and thus the amount of indexation or the percentage of indexation is derived. ”- quoted by ICTV Minister of Social Policy Oksana Zholnovich.
According to her, this year the state has introduced a mechanism for balancing pensions so that everyone gets plus or minus a uniform increase.
“We have seen that the smallest pensions are not subject to indexation. What is meant? There are approximately 4 million people who either have not too much experience (once it was possible to retire with 5 years of insurance experience), or wages were very low. And accordingly, the calculation of their pension is small, maybe 1.5 thousand or 1.7 thousand.the minister explains.
To balance this, several state “tightenings” were introduced: “If you have such a small pension, but you, for example, are 70 years old and have a full insurance record, you will definitely be paid 3,000 hryvnias. This means that in addition to your 1.5 thousand, they will still give a tightening. Therefore, we accepted as a fact the pension that was calculated last year for people on March 1, and we tell people that this has become a payment for pensioners who receive the least, and we will index it by 19.7%, and for each of these minimum recipients of pensions add at least 400 hryvnias.
A person with a disability, who is the liquidator of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident, will receive 1400 UAH. surcharges, for military pensioners, the average surcharge will be 1400 UAH. For pensioners by total length of service, by age, whose pension is more than the minimum, the supplement will average 750 hryvnia
“We have limited the top payment of indexations to UAH 1,500 and no more. Even if the calculation for large pensions is higher, we will still make 1500 UAH. Why? Because we need a resource for these smallest payments, in order to give an opportunity to add 400, 500 hryvnias to our pensioners with the lowest pensions.”Zholnovich noted.
Payments to working pensioners will also be indexed. The recalculation is carried out taking into account at least 24 months of insurance experience after the appointment (or preliminary recalculation) of the pension or taking into account less than 24 months of insurance experience, but at least 2 years have passed after the appointment (or preliminary recalculation).
