Popular Ukrainian singer Zlata Ognevich, who recently performed almost on the front line, shared her thoughts on New Year’s Eve. She became a guest of the Morning at Home program, where she admitted that she hesitated for a very long time whether it was appropriate now, during the war, to celebrate. Zlata says that she does not have a New Year’s mood yet. The singer worked and participated in filming until the last moment, and only a couple of days before the New Year she plans to decorate the Christmas tree.
— I hope that the holiday symbol will bring positive and inspiration to my home. Zlata said. - I was tormented by remorse about the celebration, until I talked to one military man who is fighting at zero. He assured that we need to celebrate in the rear, because we are all bringing this Victory closer together. Ukrainian soldiers are fighting for life. I think that these will not be some loud celebrations, because all Ukrainians remember the Victory. We all do our best to bring it closer.
The artist supports the warriors and gives charity concerts, and recently released the song “How should I be”, for which she was accused of plagiarism.
- Radio stations refuse the song, - Zlata is bored. - And I think that in society it is impossible to keep silent about the death of loved ones. When I saw President Volodymyr Zelensky posthumously award the women of fallen heroes, I was very hurt. Then I got the idea to write a song about women who said goodbye to their male heroes. We created this song together with Roman Cherenov, known under the pseudonym Morphom. As soon as I came up with the chorus and part of the verses, I immediately called Roman. I came to his studio and forty minutes later we recorded a demo. This version was included in the final series.
Zlata turned to her fans and congratulated everyone on the upcoming New Year.
- I wish you strength and light in your soul, Zlata said. - Our invincibility gives us hope that we can plan for our future. Believe in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Believe in our Victory. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to our courageous soldiers. We will definitely defeat the enemy!
