She worked at large companies in Silicon Valley, starting with LinkedIn, then quite smoothly moved to Meta (Facebook), and even further to a job at Google. In an honest conversation with Business Insider, he summarizes how much you can earn working in large technology corporations.
Jobs in Silicon Valley - not everyone will make it
Nguyen’s six-year tenure at Silicon Valley companies began with LinkedIn. As a student, at first she had a hard time dealing with resume sorters and an army of HR professionals. According to her, hardly anyone wanted to give a sociology student a chance, because companies were looking for people with a business or IT education.
She was helped by the creation from scratch and the constant work of the student club - companies appreciated her ability to achieve goals and manage the activities of others.
At LinkedIn, she got a job as a salesperson as part of an internship program organized by the corporation. She was earning $50,981 a year and could count on $17,000. bonus in dollars if she has reached the relevant goals. Counting in Polish (with a bonus for the result) per month, this is about 5,665 US dollars, that is, 22,483 PLN. But that was only the beginning.
Earnings on LinkedIn, Meta and Google - up to PLN 69,000 per month
After a while, Nguyen got bored with the sales team, so she got a job in product marketing at Google. Initially, the company had a special business program for 2.5 years.
She was the assistant product marketing manager there, a position that paid much better. The base salary was $91,000 per year, with a 15 percent performance bonus. In addition, for 4 years, Nguyen regularly received stakes in Google worth about PLN 64,000. dollars.
Having recalculated - the amount of earnings (subject to good results) is almost 8,721 dollars per month, or 34,585 zlotys. We do not take into account the profit from shares here, because they change their value over time and are not accrued in regular tranches.
The last stop of the manager was the Meta corporation, which created, among other things, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp or themes. Nguyen joined the company in 2020 as a product marketing specialist related to user privacy. According to her, she negotiated her salary with great zeal and received two promotions during her time at Mark Zuckerberg.
Accordingly, salaries at the Met were high. They consisted of $150,000 base salary, $15,000 hole. performance bonus, $80,000 in shares (for 4 years). 20,000 was also a nice bonus. starting bonus in dollars. After leaving Facebook, her base salary increased from $150,000 to $150,000. up to 196 thousand dollars.

More interestingly, Mitchie Nguyen says she said goodbye to Meta in June 2023 and is not looking back. She recently launched her own startup. According to her, even if her company does not achieve great success, she can always return to the corporation.
