Must read

Lech Poznan decided to continue what he achieved in the current season of PKO BP Ekstraklasa. Club representatives decided to permanently tie the player and extend two contracts of key players.

The current season for Lech Poznań was even successful. Although they failed to win a championship, Polish Cup or Polish Supercup, the excellent form displayed during the season took Coleyorge to the quarter-finals of the European Conference League. John van den Brom created a team that became the driving force behind Lech Poznań. Each element of this puzzle was very important for Coleyorge, so the club’s management decided to extend the contracts of two players, and concluded a definitive contract with one.

Lech Poznań extends contract with Filip Szymczak

A new contract with Lech Poznań was signed by Filip Szymczak, who, in a duet with Mikael Ishak, was an attacking force until the moment of injury. The 21-year-old is a graduate of the Academy, which he entered from Warta in 2013. His current contract was valid until June 2025, but now the Kolehorz authorities have decided to extend it for another 24 months. The president of Coleyorge explained the club’s decision.

“Filip had an important contract with us, but we wanted to make him more valuable because we believe that in the coming season, and then next season, his role in the team will increase,” said Piotr Rutkowski at the club. MASS MEDIA.

The player himself is also pleased with the new contract, admitting that he has made progress in recent months. - I think that I have shown quality, but I still thirst for success and still demand from myself regularity and more frequent performances at the proper level. I know that I can play better. I hope to show it in the pre-season, when I return to the team in full force after recovering from an injury, - says Shimchak.

Barry Douglas extends contract for another year

In addition, Barry Douglas joined Lech Poznań for a longer time, joining the club for the second time. The 33-year-old football player in blue and white played in 2013-2016, and returned to Coleyorge before the start of the previous competitions. The defender, meanwhile, played for teams such as Konyaspor, Wolverhampton and Leeds.

The Scot has extended his contract with the Colleyors for the next 12 months, thus joining the Blue and White until June 30, 2024. “Barry is an important character for us, a person. He is one of the most experienced players in this dressing room. He also handles pressure very well, he also has a good influence on young players, says Lech Poznań president Piotr Rutkowski.

“I am delighted and proud. I am glad that I extended my stay in Leh and continue my wonderful story that we are creating here together. Lech is the club where I spent the most time in my career. Here I have many memories, both the best and the worst, I got injured here, as well as the championships of Poland. I’m looking forward to another year, can’t wait,” Barry Douglas told club media.

Filip Dagerstal will stay at Lech Poznań forever

The third player to stay longer at Lech Poznań is Filip Dagerstal, who has been on loan for one year from Russia. The central defender appeared in a jersey with a railway crest on all fronts 31 times. In addition, his excellent attitude led Sweden coach Janne Andersson to call the 26-year-old footballer for the September matches in the Nations League.

Representatives of Lech Poznan report that the club has been making efforts to keep the player on Bolgarska Street for a long time. As a result of the new regulations announced by FIFA at the beginning of the week regarding players from Russian clubs, nothing prevented the Swede from signing an open-ended contract.

“Of course, this is a very important day for me, I am very excited. I have wanted this transition for a very long time and I am glad that the club is also striving for the same. I am very glad that we have completed all the formalities and I will continue my career here in Poznań,” the player said immediately after signing the contract.

Piotr Rutkowski, president of Lech Poznań, does not hide his joy from signing a contract with Dagerstal, who stressed that this is another step towards the personnel stabilization of the first blue and white team. “We wanted Philip to stay with us longer. He adapted quickly at the club and has looked very good and we are delighted to have a pair of leading centre-backs with us for the coming years,” admits the Coleyorge owner.
