Rakov Częstochowa secured the PKO Ekstraklasa victory with a few rounds left in the season. This means that he can safely compete without the pressure of a result. Marek Papshun built a team that confidently beat all opponents. Leaving the club gave rise to many rumors about potential new employers for the 48-year-old footballer.
Rakov Czestochowa was undoubtedly Ekstraklasa’s best team throughout the season. The team from the Silesian Voivodeship was leading the table all the time, diligently increasing its advantage over the rest of the field. As a result, quite early for Polish conditions, he was able to enjoy a triumph in the competition. Even the information about Marek Papshun’s departure from his post did not change his good form.
Marek Papshun is going to go abroad
The still current coach of the league leader announced a few weeks ago that after the end of the season, regardless of the result, he would say goodbye to Rakov. His place will be taken by David Schwarga, the current assistant. Immediately after the information explosion, rumors broke out about Papshun’s future. A year ago, he was strongly associated with the Warsaw Legia, but the team from the capital put in Kosta Runyaich, who is passing the exam. Recently, we also hear about the alleged interest in the coach from foreign clubs. Rakov’s coach referred to the rumors in GOL magazine, which aired on TVP Sport. He stated that he had in mind the option of leaving the country, but it all depends on the conditions to which he agrees.
I am definitely thinking about going abroad. If there were some specifics and it would be a project that would suit me, i.e. I would see some prospect for achieving high sports goals, then this would certainly be so, - said Papshun. When asked about the offer of Dynamo Kyiv, he did not want to disclose details. “My fate may be different. There is some interest, but I don’t know yet whether I will start working right away or take a break, ”added the guardian of the new national champion.
