David Kubatsky faced a difficult task. Competitions in Ga-Pa were held on January 1, so the jumpers did not have the opportunity to celebrate the new year. The winner of the 4-Hills-Tournament had to deal with the noise.

After two competitions of the 71st Four Hills Tournament, David Kubacki loses to Halvor Egner Granerud for the Golden Eagle. The Pole takes second place in the overall standings, behind the leading Norwegian by 27.3 points. Qualification and the main competitions in Garmisch-Partenkirchen were separated by New Year’s Eve, so the jumpers did not have the opportunity to celebrate the new year. The World Cup leader told how he survived it.

David Kubacki told how his New Year’s Eve looked like

Immediately after the competitions in Ga-Pa, David Kubacki will give an interview to the skijumping.pl portal, during which he admitted that, despite the noise, he woke up rested and ready on the day of the competition.

“At night they wanted to wake me up a little with fireworks and music, but I slept pretty well. We went to bed early so getting up was not a problem. Such a starting standard, i.e. breakfast, start and we go up the hill! Nothing extraordinary, just a day like any other,” said the 32-year-old resident of Novy Targ.

David Kubacki appreciated his jumps in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Although at some point the cameras captured David Kubatsky yawning, the interested man admitted that he was delighted with all the jumps. In his opinion, in the first round there was not enough timing, because of which he jumped a little late, without rotation, so he could not jump further. The second one was much better.

- I still do not avoid mistakes, but I am glad that such jumps allow me to fight for prizes and, finally, to be on the podium. It is very gratifying that even with mistakes you get into the top three, - added the leader of the World Cup.
