If this actually happened, it would be a unique story. Aleksey Nasevich said that he would like to play for the Polish national team. There is one thing that stands in the way.
The Polish volleyball team already has one player with foreign roots. Of course, we are talking about Wilfredo Leon, who, admittedly, has no ancestors from our country, but is so related to him that he proudly wears white and red colors. In a sense, a volleyball player from Belarus would like to follow in his footsteps. Aleksey Nasevich, after all, this is exactly what we are talking about, openly admitted this during a conversation with the media.
Aleksey Nasevich wants to play for the Polish national team
The young athlete is only 19 years old, but for several years he has been living, studying and playing in Poland. He came to our country at the age of 15 with his family. Father and mother wanted to give Alexei and his brother the best education, but young Nasevich eventually chose the sports path. He played volleyball so well that he eventually went to Trefl Gdansk. Unfortunately, he does not have many chances to play, although not necessarily for purely sporting reasons.
- If I played under a Polish license, it would, of course, be easier for me to get into the main team. I would go out on the field more often, because I will not take a place at the limits for foreigners, - the player himself explained in an interview with sportsfakty.wp.pl. Currently, the presenter plays under a Belarusian license, but is trying to get a Polish one.
Aleksey Nasevich does not intend to represent Belarus
This, in turn, could help him get into the white-red team. When asked if he would like to act in it someday, he unequivocally said yes. - Why not? If I succeed, then, of course, I would like to try, - he bluntly admitted. In this context, another statement that the athlete made at the end of the conversation on this topic sounded strong and bold. - I never thought about representing Belarus. I don’t even want that,” he said unequivocally.
