Personnel changes in the field of defense - it is possible to replace the current head of the Ministry of Defense Alexei Reznikov with the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Kirill Budanov - this week will not happen.
This was reported David Arakhamia, head of the parliamentary faction of the Servant of the People party. At the same time, the appointments of the heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Security Service of Ukraine are expected - currently Igor Klymenko and Vasily Malyuk are acting.
The first one was appointed after the aircraft in Brovary on January 18, during which Minister Denis Monastyrsky died. The second has been acting head of the Ukrainian intelligence service since the summer of 2022 after the resignation of Ivan Bakanov.
Earlier, Arakhamia noted that Reznikov could become the Minister for Strategic Industries in order to strengthen military-industrial cooperation, which “is completely logical, given his expertise on Rammstein and the need to“ raise ”the ministry, which should do more.”
He also said that People’s Deputy of Ukraine Igor Abramovich, who left the ranks of the Opposition Platform for Life faction on the first day of the large-scale invasion, wrote a statement on the drafting of the mandate.
Commenting on the situation with the expected change in the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, People’s Deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko also noted that this week the rotation will not take place and added that a military officer cannot be the Minister of Defense.
Recall that Reznikov himself stated that he remained in the president’s team, and his further actions would depend on Zelensky’s decision.
