True to their life-size versions, these models see each squad member with their favorite item(s). For Bubbles, of course, this is a cute cat, and Ricky is standing with a lit cigarette out of his mouth and a gun in his hand, and Julian is clutching his rum and cola. Also in the spotlight are the boys’ outfits with Bubbles’ thick-rimmed glasses, Julian’s all-black ensemble, and Ricky’s plaid shirt. To be honest, the longer you look at these guys, the more Easter eggs pop up.
What started as a short 1999 mockumentary about the wild life of crime of two Sunnyvale Trailer Park residents, Ricky LaFleur (Robb Wells) and Julian (John Paul Tremblay) will grow into a beloved franchise that will have multiple spin-offs, including a 12-season TV series, an animated project, and a feature film. By the time the series was picked up, new characters had been added to them with Mike Smith joining the gang as the cat loving and kind Bubbles. The show also caught the attention of the boys’ nemesis, alcoholic trailer park boss Jim Lahey (John Dunsworth) and his naked assistant Randy (Pat Roach). The first seven seasons of the series aired on Showcase from 2001 to 2007, with Netflix taking the opportunity to continue seasons 8 to 12 starting in 2014. The updated version even has such legends as Snoop Dogg And Doug Benson along with many returning stars from the Showcase series.
