This Saturday, Woody Harrelson returns to Studio 8H to host new episode Saturday night life. The episode will mark the fifth time Harrelson has hosted, and he will land on the longtime Five-Timers Club for a comedy series. Jack White will accompany as a musical guest, also marking his fifth appearance on the show. Leading up to the episode SNL shared a new promo featuring Harrelson.
The promo shows Harrelson taking a trip down memory lane as he walks through the halls of the studio with photographs of previous SNL hosts. In voiceover, he names some of the hosts he sees, but most of them he misunderstands. He first looks at Tom Hanks and correctly names it. It follows with Matt Damonlooking at the photo Ben Affleck. Further Amy Poehlerwho really Owen Wilson (Wow). It ends with a photo Matthew McConaugheyand while he’s not giving McConaughey the wrong name, Harrelson is beautifully captured in the photo, so we can probably guess what he might be thinking.
It is eventually revealed that Harrelson was just listening to a tape of himself, which explains the name discrepancy. His thoughts are also interrupted when the actor Devon Walker asks what Harrelson is doing. Harrelson explains that he “writes down” all his thoughts in advance. Walker puts this to the test, causing Harrelson to “accidentally” insult him. Of course, it’s easy to blame faulty tape and dead batteries. However, this is not the case in this case, as Harrelson is leaving.
Harrelson’s latest appearance as host follows his recent roles in The man from Toronto And Triangle of sadness. The latter of the two has recently won multiple season of love awards, earning nominations from BAFTAs, Golden Globes, and upcoming Academy Awards. The episode with Harrelson is the first episode of SNLshort break earlier this month, last episode saw Pedro Pascal presenter with musical guest cold game.
SNL already announced two additional hosts
The next three episodes of the show will air consecutively, including Harrelson’s episode. Ahead of his return, the next two sets of hosts and musical guests were announced. March 4 Travis Kelsey from the Kansas City Chiefs will make his debut as a host after his team’s recent Super Bowl victory. Kelsey Ballerini will also make it SNL debut as a musical guest. On March 11, the show will be creepy and crazy. Wednesday star Jenna Ortega debuts on hosting. She will be accompanied by a musical guest 1975.
Saturday night life returns with new episodes February 25 at 11:30 pm ET / 8:30 pm PT on NBC, simulcast live on Peacock. Previous episodes are available for streaming. Watch the new promo below:
