In terms of raw materials and energy, 2023 could prove to be even more challenging than last year. This is the price we pay for our dependence on imported raw materials. Russia’s war in Ukraine has simply dotted the i’s here and exposed all the energy weaknesses of the EU. Against this background, Poland does not feel so bad.
In our case, the phrase “better late than never” took on a new meaning when the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline was launched from Norway through Denmark to Poland in the autumn. Although we could have had it a few years ago, the government of Leszek Miller annulled the agreement with Norway made by the government of Jerzy Buzek. Today, however, the most important thing is that the gas pipeline, which makes it possible to gain independence from blue fuel from Russia, works and is as important for Poland as the LNG terminal in Swinoujscie.
A new report from the Energy Forum think tank we analyzed tells us how much dependence on imported fuel costs.
