It is worth getting to know them.
Retirees and pensioners can earn extra money
Many people remain professionally active after reaching retirement age. In accordance with current legislation, it is possible to simultaneously receive an old-age and disability pension, as well as remuneration from the employer. However, it is important to be aware of the applicable restrictions set by ZUS in this case. After exceeding them, you can limit or even suspend the payment of a pension.
You can earn extra money from pensions and disability pensions, but you must remember that there are income limits that change every 3 months. Once they are exceeded, ZUS may reduce or suspend benefits. People receiving disability and early retirement pensions should control the income limits, recalls the regional press attache of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship Kristina Michalek, quoted in the ZUS report.
According to the limits, each pensioner can earn additionally without fear of a reduction or suspension of the payment of ZUS benefits, provided that the remuneration received from another source does not exceed 70% of wages. his pension or disability pension. After exceeding the level of 70 percent. the benefit is reduced, but if the amount exceeds 130%, then ZUS completely suspends the payment.
New limits for pensioners
From December 1, new limits will be in effect, calculated on the basis of an increase in the average wage in the economy. This means you can earn more before you reach levels that allow ZUS to reduce or suspend your payment.
From September 1 to November 30, the payment was reduced if the amount was exceeded PLN 4,309.40 and its suspension when the pensioner earned PLN 8,003.20 from another source. From December 1, the limits will be higher. ZUS will be able to limit the payment of benefits when the income exceeds PLN 4,536.50 (i.e. PLN 227.1), and the payment will be suspended after exceeding PLN 8,424.90, i.e. another PLN 421.2.
