Not very drunk, but still under the influence of alcohol. The driver was carrying 17 tons of LNG when he shouldn’t have.
0.44 ppm of alcohol was “blown out” by a truck driver with an attached ADR semi-trailer. At the time of his arrest for verification, he was transporting about 17 tons of LNG from Swinoujscie to Legnica. The driver, after drinking alcohol, was excluded from traffic by inspectors of the West Pomeranian traffic police. The man was handed over to the police for further action.
Large gas load
The incident happened on Friday (September 1, 2023) in the morning. On Highway 3 near Kunuw, a Road Inspectorate patrol stopped a Polish truck set for a routine inspection. A truck tractor with an attached tank semi-trailer transported almost 17 tons of LNG from Swinoujscie to Legnica.
Shortly after the truck stopped, the driver attempted to evade further inspection. He claimed he was in a hurry to contact a customer who had run out of gas. The inspectors were not convinced by this argument, and they asked the driver to present the necessary documents. They then smelled alcohol in the cabin and noticed the way the driver spoke.
In the evening he drank “a little”
A breathalyzer test showed that the man was under the influence of alcohol. Another test, carried out with a precision instrument, gave the result: 0.21 mg / l (0.44 ppm) of alcohol in the exhaled air. In a conversation with the inspectors, the driver explained that he drank four bottles of beer last night.
The drunk driver was handed over to the police for further action.
