In Kharkiv, two high-ranking city officials — the director of the Kharkiv Heating Networks KP Vasily Skopenko and the head of the Kharkiv City Council Infrastructure Department Ivan Kuznetsov — drove drunk at night and attacked police officers. Both representatives of Igor Terekhov’s team face up to 5 years in prison.
Skopenko and Kuznetsov were stopped at a checkpoint on the night of December 5 during the curfew, according to the Kharkiv edition of Mysl.
Officials drove around Kharkiv in an elite SUV “Mercedes”, using passes and passwords to pass through checkpoints. The driver was Vasyl Skopenko, Director of Kharkiv Heating Systems, and Ivan Kuznetsov, Director of the Infrastructure Department, was a passenger.
When the Mercedes was stopped for a document check, the drunken officials began to rush at the military, using foul language, claiming that they were war heroes.
The video released by Opinion shows that officials are in a state of extreme intoxication, cannot sit normally, behave aggressively, and use obscene language against the military.
The National Police officers who arrived at the scene of the incident drew up a protocol against the violators of the order.
According to the Kharkiv edition “Objective”, on December 5, on the basis of the collected materials, criminal proceedings were initiated against officials under Part 2 of Art. 345 of the Criminal Code (threat or violence against a law enforcement officer). The sanction of the article provides for restriction of liberty for up to 5 years or imprisonment for the same period.
Recall that this is not the first scandal associated with the behavior of officials from the team of the mayor of Kharkov Igor Terekhov during the war. So, in the summer, the director of the Department of Land Relations of the Kharkiv City Council, Sergei Kolesnik, during martial law and daily shelling of Kharkov, was seen at one of the most expensive resorts on the Cote d’Azur of France.
He was defiantly dismissed by Terekhov from his post. At the same time, the mayor said that such behavior is absolutely unacceptable and anyone who allows himself such a thing will also be fired. However, literally a month later Anna Ryabokonova, an employee of the Kharkiv City Council department, celebrated her birthday in Nice and Monaco and boasted about it on social networks. These cases forced experts to talk about the inability of the mayor of Kharkiv to control the city council.
