A real climber wiggles his toes even in his sleep. There is a half joke. After all, it is they who freeze first and most of all - you know all this from your own experience. The famous Ukrainian climber, the first person in the world who raised the cryptocurrency to Everest, Taras Late Gave me some quick tips to keep my feet cold.
“We always measure shoes on the thickest socks with which we will wear them. Maybe even two pairs. There should be about 5 millimeters of clearance between the thumb and the toe of the boot (for mountains of shoes, they choose 1-1.5 sizes larger), but at the same time, the heel should not walk when laced up. Do not forget that the block should fit under the foot. For example, my feet are quite wide and often the shoes press on the sides, even if they are good in length. This not only leads to discomfort, but also impairs blood circulation. Poor blood supply - feet get colder“.
Socks climber advises better to wear warm ones - made of wool or synthetics. But if you don’t have enough warm socks, you can wear two pairs, the main thing is that the foot feels free and not pinched.
“If I have to make a choice - two pairs of socks and tight, or one pair and comfortable - I will always choose the second option. But during a long stay at rest - the seat or standing legs will still freeze. One extreme option is to use chemical heating pads. One heating pad lasts up to 6-8 hours of operation. An easier option is to add some activity. Squat, jump, swing your leg, and if this is not possible, then be like a climber - move your fingers“.
