I am currently working as a news website author at Daily News Hack. I mostly cover trending news and have been doing so for quite some time now. I have always had a keen interest in current affairs and the world around me, which is what led me to my current job. I firmly believe that the best way to learn about something is by doing it yourself and that is why I love my job so much. It allows me to be constantly learning about new things and then sharing that knowledge with others. I am also a big believer in the power of networking and building relationships. I think that LinkedIn is a great platform for connecting with like-minded people from all over the world.

From December 1, amendments to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine “On increasing the level of social protection of citizens affected by the Chernobyl disaster” in terms of determining the average monthly earnings come into force. We are talking about changing the average wage rate for participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident and disabled members of their families when calculating disability and survivor’s pensions. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the Pension Fund in the Ternopil region.

This applies to those cases when the pension is assigned from wages for the period of work in the exclusion zone during 1986-1990.

Now, when calculating the average monthly earnings, the average wage for 2014-2016 will be used, increased by indexation factors - UAH 6186.32. .

Before the changes, this figure was UAH 1,526.39. (UAH 928.81 * 1.17 * 1.11 * 1.11 * 1.14).

In the case when a person applied for a pension, taking into account the wages (income) received (received) for work in the exclusion zone in 1986-1990, two indicators of the average monthly wage coefficient are determined, which are taken into account when calculating the pension:

  • calculated taking into account earnings from the exclusion zone;
  • calculated based on five times the minimum wage“.

After determining the two coefficients, the pension is assigned taking into account the higher average monthly wage coefficient. Recalculations are made automatically without additional requests from pension recipients.

Recall the expert’s commentary on why pensioners may not be paid extra for excess service, as well as for the status of “children of war.”
