The past season in ski jumping has been full of ups and downs for Oleksandr Znishhol. However, the 28-year-old confirmed that he has a desire to become one of the most important elements of the Polish national team, and the end of the campaign in Planica was the best proof of this. In each of the competitions, he performed well and made it clear that next season he wants to fight for much higher goals than 32nd place in the general classification. He made a promise himself.

Immediately after the final competition in Planica, Aleksander Zniszol appeared in front of the TVN cameras, accompanied by Piotr Zhyla. Jumper did not hide the great excitement of what he managed to achieve, but still understands that there is a lot of room for improvement. It is worth noting that between the first and second series, the 28-year-old athlete promised that he would be able to overcome the mark of 230 m. He kept his word, as he reached as much as 235.5 m!

“I kept my word, but I think I must be a sad person, because I didn’t believe that I could achieve this before. The season ended in a very stylish way, which motivates us to continue working. I would like to jump again. Height was, speed was. I knew I would go far. Maybe it would have been a little further, but when I saw that I had crossed the line, I had already landed,” Alexander Znishhol said.

Answering a question about cooperation with the coaching staff of Thomas Turnbichler, Alexander Zniszol noted that he would especially like to thank Maciej Maciusiak and his team, because together they did a great job. He also added that he and Thomas Turnbichler found a common language and are very pleased with the cooperation. When asked about the life record of the 28-year-old coach, he admitted that he was bursting with pride, but he still had to work.

“I am very proud of him, he jumped brilliantly all weekend. Everything was in place, except for the landing, but next season we will work on it. So the plan is more jumps and better landings,” said Thomas Turnbichler.
