Kamil Bortnichuk visited the RMF FM radio station, where, among other things, he touched upon the topic of the Poland-Albania match, which, according to preliminary plans, should take place at PGE Narodowy in Warsaw. The Minister of Sports and Tourism stated that it was not possible to hold a match at this facility. In turn, representatives of the stadium issued a statement in which they claim that the case is not closed.

The match between Poland and Albania was scheduled for March 27 at 20:45. According to preliminary plans, the meeting should take place at Narodovy PGE, but due to a defect in the roof of the facility, which was discovered in November 2022, there is no certainty that it will take place there. The matter is still not clear.

Kamil Bortnichuk: The match between Poland and Albania will not take place on PGE Narodowy

In an interview with RMF FM, the Minister of Sports and Tourism assured that the organization of a meeting within the framework of the Euro 2024 qualification at PGE Narodowy, in his opinion, is impossible.

– My position is not to take risks and not wash the eyes of the PZPN or the fans and decide that the match against Albania will take place at another venue (…) In my opinion, this match in Warsaw will not be 100% and it will be my recommendation that the management company provide the PZPN with such information, - said Kamil Bortnichuk on RMF FM.

The management of PGE Narodowy issued a statement regarding the match between Poland and Albania.

Shortly after the aforementioned interview with the Minister of Sports, a statement regarding the organization of the event appeared on the official website of PGE Narodowy. The authorities of the institution say that the case is not closed and it’s all a matter of time.

“Due to the need to carry out studies confirming the analyzes carried out so far, we would like to inform you that at present, the expert group collaborating with PGE Narodowy has not yet given any recommendations or conditions necessary to organize all - stadium events, including the match between Poland and Albania. The basis for issuing such recommendations and guidelines will be the results of studies planned in the coming days and the subsequent analysis of the collected data. Once again, we would like to emphasize that where security is at stake, there is no place for haste and compromise.

In addition, it was emphasized that the leadership of PGE Narodowy is in constant contact with PZPN, which is informed about the progress of work.
