Cuba returns to the League of Nations after a break. The volleyball players of this representation beat the Turks in the Volleyball Challenger Cup Final and thus qualified for the following year’s VNL edition.
The regular draw of the volleyball League of Nations has recently ended. Byalo-Chervony reached the final tournament, which was held in Italy, without any problems. Our volleyball players in the semi-finals had to admit the superiority of the Americans, who subsequently fought for the gold. Our volleyball players had only to fight for the bronze medal, which we managed to win by beating the hosts of the tournament.

A future edition of this tournament seems even more interesting given that the tournament was heavily represented. In the final of the Challenger Cup in volleyball, the Cuban team dotted all i and happily returned to the League of Nations after many years.
On the way to the final, the volleyball players of this representation beat the national teams of Chile and the Czech Republic. In the decisive match for entering the League of Nations, Cuba left no chance for Turkey. The meeting ended with the score 3:1 (25:17, 23:25, 25:20, 25:20).

The victory with Turkey means the return of Cuba to big volleyball, in which it was not so long ago. In 2012, this team won the bronze medal of the World Volleyball League. This was the last great success of this country in the international arena. Clashes with the Cuban team will also be of particular importance for Wilfredo León, who fled the country in 2013 and joined Zenit Kazan. This deprived him of the opportunity to play in this team, but opened the door for performances in the Polish team. The volleyball player has repeatedly stated in the past that he did not apply for Polish citizenship for financial reasons.
