The sixth day of the World Championships in Athletics brought many disappointments to the Polish fans, and only Anna Kelbasinska saved the honor of the white-reds. However, our representatives still have a lot of chances for a successful performance, and we are reminded of the championship schedule.
The Poles had a very successful start to the World Championships in Athletics, as Katarzyna Zdzieblo won silver on the first day in the 20-kilometer walk. A day later, a disk made of the same metal was won by Wojciech Nowicki, who lost the competition only to Pavel Faydek. Unfortunately, the achievements of the white-reds in Evgenia ended there, and the Polish contenders for prizes did not win the medal: Malvina Kopron and Adrianna Sulek.
World Athletics Championship. Polish start ahead
Many disappointments were caused by the sixth day of the championship, in which our runners also competed. Patrik Sieradzki, Mateusz Borkowski and Patrik Dobek were eliminated in the 800m qualifying heats, which was a big surprise, especially for the last competitor who won an Olympic bronze medal in the same distance a year ago. Natalia Kachmarek, on the contrary, could not reach the final of the 400m race, and the honor of our representatives was saved by Anna Kelbasinska, who competed in the same competition.
The semi-finals in the 800 meters run without the participation of Polish athletes will take place on Thursday night. Also at night, Anna Velgosh, who is our only representative, starting from the seventh day of the World Cup, will run in the qualifying races.
