The Russians continue to shell Ukraine. During this day, the enemy launched 20 missile and 30 air strikes, made about 30 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops and settlements. For missile strikes, the enemy used 17 air-launched cruise missiles, 15 of which were destroyed by our defenders, and 3 more S-300 missiles at Kramatorsk and Konstantinovka. The civilian infrastructure was destroyed. This was reported in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The enemy continues to concentrate his main efforts on the Limansky, Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky and Maryinsky directions. During the day, the enemy made about 30 attacks on the indicated sectors of the front. The fiercest battles continue for the cities of Bakhmut and Marinka”- the message says.
So, in the Kupyansky direction, the enemy tried to improve the tactical situation, conducted offensive operations near the settlements of Masyutovka and Stelmakhovka, but was not successful. In the Limansky direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the area of Belogorovka during the day. In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy continues to lead the offensive. During the day, he conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the city of Bakhmut, as well as in the direction of the settlements of Ivanovskoye and Stupochki. The enemy did not carry out offensive actions in the Avdeevka direction. Inflicted an air strike in the area of the settlement of Avdiivka. He carried out shelling of Avdiivka, Pervomaisky, Netailovoe and Karlovka in the Donetsk region. In the Maryinsky direction, units of the defense forces repelled numerous enemy attacks in the area of the city of Maryinka. At the same time, Georgievka, Donetsk region, was subjected to enemy shelling. In the Shakhtyorsk direction, the enemy did not carry out offensive operations during the day. In the Zaporozhye and Kherson directions, the enemy continues to conduct defensive operations.
“On May 8, Russian occupiers began to evacuate children of preschool and school age from the city of Kamenka-Dneprovskaya, Zaporozhye region, together with their parents, as well as teachers and other public sector employees. There were few applicants. Evacuation is carried out in Berdyansk. At the same time, all medical workers of the local hospital have been called to work.”- reported in the General Staff.
They also noted that the aircraft of the Defense Forces in a day delivered 4 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel and military equipment of the enemy, as well as 2 strikes on its anti-aircraft missile systems. And the rocket and artillery units hit two areas of concentration of manpower and an electronic warfare station of the occupiers.
