As the film sails through Hollywood, critics praise the cast’s outstanding performances, with some praising the film’s magical reimagining. And for fans who want to bring a little nostalgia to their humble homes, LEGO has released a new collection called The Little Mermaid Royal Cot, welcoming everyone to Ariel’s world.
LEGO set inspired by the enchanting world Mermaid comes from Mattel’s own Ariel-inspired doll, in the form of the actress who played the part. The new LEGO set, which retails for £139.99, features 1,808 Lego pieces featuring miniature figures of Ariel, Flounder, Sebastian, Princess Karina, Princess Indira, King Triton and Ursula. Modeled after a giant cot shell, the LEGO set also includes King Triton’s rock throne, Ursula’s hideout and, of course, Ariel’s treasure cave. The underwater-themed Lego collection recreates scenes from the movie for fans to put on display, making it perfect for celebrating the release of the upcoming movie on May 26th.
Ariel wants to be part of the human world
Based Hans Christian AndersenIn the 1989 book of the same name, Bailey plays Ariel, who lives in the underwater kingdom of Atlantica with her father, King Triton (Javier Bardem), along with other sea creatures. Ariel, who was always curious about life beyond the sea, fell in love with the human Prince Eric (Jonah Hauer-King). Wanting to become part of the world on land, the mermaid made a dangerous deal with the sea witch Ursula (Melissa McCarthy) in exchange for life on the surface.
Making live-action remakes of their classic stories is a great reputation that the Walt Disney Studios has built over the past few years, including Cinderella, Cruella, The beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, MaleficentAnd Alice in Wonderland, among many others. WITH Peter Pan and Wendy formerly graced Disney+, Mermaid is another long-awaited feature that will join Disney’s long list of adaptations - and hopefully manage to follow the legacy of the book and animated film it’s based on.
Along with Bailey, Hauer-King, McCarthy and Bardem, the rest Mermaid the cast also includes Noma Dumezweni like Queen Selina, Kaisa Mohammar like Karina, Lorena Andrea like pearl and Simone Ashley like Indira. The upcoming film will also feature the voices of David Diggs as Sebastian. Jacob Tremblay like Flounder and Aquafina like Scuttle.
