55 mm of precipitation fell per hour. This led to a sharp rise in the water level in the Bzugu River, which flows through the Khosta district of the city. The river overflowed its banks. In the morning the water level rose in three more rivers - Khosta, Matsesta and Kudepsta.
“Heavy downpour in the Central and Khostinsky districts led to the flooding of territories - roads, adjacent territories and the basement and first floors of buildings. Substations were flooded, which led to a power outage,” - reported in the city administration.
Due to the downpour, a section of the A-147 highway (Dzhubga - Sochi) was also flooded.
