During the Wired video in which James Gunn And Sean Gunn answered some of the most popular questions on the Internet, said the co-head of DC Studios. Superman: Legacy Filming is due to begin in January 2024. The film will reboot the DCU in theaters, with Gunn writing and directing a new Man of Steel adventure.
Last year, Warner Bros. Discovery hired Gunn and Peter Safran to restructure DC Studios and create a new interconnected storyline for movies, TV shows, and even video games. Gunn and Safran revealed part of their ambitious plan last January, highlighting how Superman: Legacy is the first theatrical chapter of the “Gods and Monsters” storyline. This isn’t entirely unexpected as Superman is one of DC’s most iconic characters and the first superhero to appear in comics.
Although Gunn and Safran were very cautious about the leaks, we already know a thing or two about Superman: Legacy. First, thanks to Flash resetting the DCU timeline, Gunn’s upcoming projects could bring in a folder of new stars to play DC heroes and villains. Here’s what will happen to Superman: Legacyin which an actor younger will take part Henry Cavill play Man of Steel for the next decade. Fans are trying to guess who Gunn will cast in such an important role, but so far all the director has done is dispel the rumors.
Gunn also emphasized how Superman: Legacy will not serve as an origin story, but will follow the Man of Steel as a well-established hero. Also, Clark Kent won’t be the only beloved character involved in the project, as Superman’s pal Jimmy Olsen will appear in the upcoming film.
How Superman: Legacy Connecting to a new DCU?
Although Gunn and Safran have spoken about several projects they are currently working on for the new DCU, we still don’t know what will tie all these separate TV shows and movies together. However, Krypton is undoubtedly an important part of Gann and Safran’s plan. Bye Superman: Legacy Gunn said that this is not an origin story, the film will highlight the hero’s past. In addition, the new DCU includes a Supergirl movie based on Tom KingX The Woman of Tomorrow a comic that shows how Kara Zor-El became a completely different superhero after the destruction of Krypton.
