Today Ahsoka panel during star Wars Celebration Europe has revealed new details about the upcoming exciting Disney+ series, including the full list of directors who will direct the Togruta Jedi episodes. Show Creator Dave Filoni was understandably in high spirits after the enthusiastic reception the show received, both at yesterday’s Lucasfilm Studio Showcase and in a separate panel this morning at the ExCel Center in London.
Calling Collider Steve Weintraub after the showcase, Weintraub asked Filoni how many episodes of the show we can expect - for comparison, The Mandalorian will consist of eight episodes of the third season, as well as what we could expect in terms of runtime:
You know, I’d say it’s pretty relative when you’re doing this kind of work. One thing that John and I are very adamant about is that we try to, you know, cut it down and take it apart so it keeps moving. My episodes actually started quite a while ago. They’re probably related to other episodes I’ve written and made, like the Jedi episode, but it has to be tight and fast because they have to be shorter for the action to work. But I’d say they’re in the same range as the Mandalorian episodes, maybe a little longer on average, but the most recent versions are in the same range. I love long series as much as everyone else as long as they are moving.
What Dave Filoni has The Mandalorian Did you like the episodes?
Filoni has directed three episodes to date. The Mandalorianas well as one of his first spin-offs Boba Fett book. He directed the pilot episode “The Mandalorian” which was 37 minutes long, “The Gunslinger” which was 32 minutes long, and the fifth episode of the second season, “Jedi”, in which Ahsoka Tano made her live debut. The duration of this episode was 43 minutes. His episode from Boba Fett book,A stranger comes from the desert”, duration 47 minutes.
First trailer for Ahsoka was released yesterday and showcased some of the action-packed action that fans of the series can expect when the series premieres on Disney+ in August 2023. Watch the teaser trailer for Ahsoka at the bottom.
