Important changes in the Labor Code. Employees are disappointed with the amount of the equivalent

Must read

From April 7, remote work is allowed by the Labor Code. According to many entrepreneurs, this decision is needed, but too late. The most questionable are the provisions on the payment of the employee’s own expenses or the possibility of the employer refusing to work remotely. Employees do not hide that they are disappointed with the amount of the equivalent. Hourly rates for working from home are in the pennies.

On Friday, April 7th, remote work regulations went into effect. This is one of the main topics in many companies where the Christmas meetings of management and employees are held. When introducing new rules, there was a problem in determining the amount of the equivalent.

Workers will receive a small bonus. They expected higher rates

According to the new regulation, the amount of costs is necessary to ensure remote work and is directly related to it. Employees do not hide the fact that they were counting on an additional bonus of PLN 200-300 per month. Now they feel disappointed.

The companies offer sums many times lower than the initial agreements. At the headquarters of a large financial company in Warsaw, employees received a message that it would be PLN 20 per month for people who would work from home for the entire month. People who work half the month at the company and the other half at home will receive half the amount.

Electricity bills have increased significantly. Equivalent is not enough for fees

- It’s not even coconut anymore. It’s some kind of social Enough for cotton balls says one of the employees. - I am disappointed. In January, February and March, I worked from home all the time. Electricity bills have increased significantly. In March, at a meeting of the company, the amount of 200 zł per month was announced. i can’t find the words he adds.

Employees of many other companies receive similar amounts. In social networks, employees post information about the amount of the equivalent of the amount awarded to them by employers. Many records show that employers are trying to save as much as possible on a one-time payment. - Nothing special. it’s a penny - says one of the Internet users. Most often, this is an amount of a few kopecks per hour of work from home. Their amount depends on the number of days worked remotely.

The equivalent should be PLN 250-300. This is the result of employee calculations

Employees summed up their spending on online work. In their opinion, PLN 100-150 is a monthly fee for home Internet. Another 100 zlotys, in their opinion, should be in addition to electricity. An additional equivalent in the amount of several tens of zlotys should be issued to employees using personal phones.

Employees of technology companies, including the IT sector, can count on the highest rates. A survey conducted among companies associated with SoDA shows that 64 percent. of the respondents claim the calculation in the form of a lump-sum payment, and the remaining 36 percent. choose the equivalent.

The IT industry will benefit the most. However, this is not a dream

Estimated amounts payable vary from PLN 40 to PLN 80 per employee. - said Marcelina Chojnacka in an interview with Wprost.pl. — Of course, this amount includes elements such as electricity costs, telecommunications services and other costs directly related to the implementation of remote work, which companies are obliged to cover in accordance with contracts or regulations. she added.

The amendment to the Labor Code introduced a number of changes. However, not all issues have been resolved. In financial matters, employees were required to negotiate the amount of the lump sum or its equivalent with their employers.

There is no legally equivalent rate. The amounts are set by employers.

The regulations oblige employers to cover the costs associated with the installation, maintenance, operation and maintenance of work tools, including the technical devices required to perform remote work, the costs of electricity and telecommunications services required to perform remote work. But nowhere is there a legislative mention of their growth.

According to the Department of Labor, detailed rules for employer coverage of telework costs are a mandatory element of an internal agreement or company policy. However, the voice of the employer is most important here.
