Cold water tariffs may soon be reviewed: what is known

Must read

In Ukraine, they took up the increase in water tariffs. And although the NEURC had previously planned to implement this from June 1, it was postponed for two weeks. The corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the regulator, RBC-Ukraine reports.

As Konstantin Ushchapovsky, head of the NEURC, explained, a significant price fluctuation is now recorded on the electricity market, so the members of the commission should consider launching a procedure for revising price caps (price restrictions, the use of which should prevent producers from overpricing electricity sales on the day-ahead and intraday markets). . ). This is necessary because when calculating water tariffs, the price of electricity for water utilities at the level was set at the level of 3.20 hryvnia per kWh, and now, obviously, it should be more.

It should also be understood that cold water tariffs are set separately for each water utility. Therefore, depending on the region, prices may vary. For example, for consumers of Vinnitsaoblkanal it was proposed to set a tariff at the level of 47.75 hryvnia per cubic meter with VAT (now 25.62), and for Lutskvodokanal - 32.24 hryvnia per cubic meter with VAT (now 28.41).

For residents of Odessa, the tariff was to be raised to 44.86 hryvnia per cubic meter with VAT (now 35.15), for residents of Kyiv - up to 40.46 hryvnia per cubic meter with VAT (now 30.38). And the most expensive water is in Pavlograd (Dnepropetrovsk region). They proposed to raise the tariff to 70.62 hryvnia per cubic meter VAT (now 53.66).

It should be reminded that earlier market experts expressed uncertainty about the economic feasibility of new tariffs for electricity, and, accordingly, water for the population.
