Some pensioners were exempted from paying utility bills: who can “forget” about a communal apartment

In Ukraine, since June 1, tariffs for utilities, in particular electricity and water, have been increased. Now in payments the amount will be more by about 30%.

At the same time, some pensioners are given a 100% discount on utility bills.

This was recalled in the Pension Fund, writes “On Pension”.

Discount is available for:
- housing (rent, payment for services for the maintenance of houses and structures and adjacent territories), management of an apartment building;

- utilities (centralized cold water supplies, centralized hot water supplies, drainage, heat and electricity supply, natural gas (including transportation, distribution and supply), centralized heating, household waste disposal).
fuel and liquefied gas.

It is noted that a 100% discount on the payment of a communal apartment is provided to persons who have special merits to the Motherland and family members of the deceased who have special merits to the Motherland.

As well as to pensioners who previously worked as teachers, medical and pharmaceutical workers, plant protection specialists, library workers in rural areas and urban-type settlements.

The discount is provided if the average monthly income of the beneficiary for six months does not exceed the amount of income that gives the right to a tax social benefit (UAH 3,760 in 2023).

The Fund noted that if a pensioner is not entitled to a 100% discount on utilities, he can apply for a housing subsidy.
