Ukrainian women with a medical specialization will not be subject to mandatory mobilization until 2026 - the changes concern only the registration system.
This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar on the air of the telethon.
“Until 2026, even for Ukrainian women with a medical specialty, the only one for which they can be subject to mobilization, there will be no mandatory registration. Other professions only on a voluntary basis, - she said.
According to her, the changes to simplify the conscription system were planned and developed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine even before the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
“There is nothing there to complicate the situation of reservists, conscripts, registered people. We are talking about simplifying the accounting system, Maller added.
Recall that after the full-scale invasion of Russia on February 24, 2022, martial law was introduced in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced. In July, the General Staff announced that women would be registered with the military only with their consent. And on October 7, 2022, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a law providing for a voluntary procedure for taking women into military registration. The Cabinet of Ministers also made corresponding changes to its decisions.
