The famous Ukrainian singer Nadya Dorofeeva, who showed the destroyed house in Gorenko, admits that nine months of full-scale war completely changed her life. She spoke about this in an interview with the Morning at Home program. The singer says that, like most Ukrainians, they did not believe that a full-scale war would begin in Ukraine, so at first the artist was hard to get used to the terrible realities.
- For the first three months I didn’t work at all, and then I began to write new songs and actively tour in support of Ukraine, says Nadia.
Her first work during the war was a duet with Artem Pivovarov - the song “Duma”. Later, she released an album in Ukrainian. The singer admits that during the war her songs became different.
- While I’m just learning to write texts, - Dorofeev’s story. - By the way, the first song I wrote at the age of fourteen was Ukrainian and was called “I love my Crimea”. When the war started, I was very scared to write lyrics in Ukrainian. I wanted to write the same powerful texts as in Elzy’s Okean or Odin in a Canoe. I doubted if I could. I had to turn to professionals for help. To reproaches that I started singing in Ukrainian late, I react normally. The time will come and I will explain why it happened.
The singer is philosophical about realities, such as air raid warnings or blackouts. She says the war taught her a lot.
- I’m used to the fact that nothing can be planned, says Nadia. - You have to make decisions quickly and be organized. I finally learned how to cook, wash. I have become more responsible. We, Ukrainians, are generally incredible, it is very difficult for us here, but we quickly got used to the new realities. It’s great that we experience many situations with humor. We are brave, we will overcome everything!
Recall that Dantes called the true reason for the divorce from Dorofeeva.
