Youth games are considered to be those in which, in theory, a clean ball is important, i.e. the joy of playing and performing for the sake of physical activity, without thinking about a career and big money. Deadly brawl at a youth match
While the junior games may not be as “clean” as before, no one expected the situation that happened last weekend in Frankfurt. An international football tournament was held in Germany with the participation of, among other things, the French Academy of FC Metz. One of the team’s players, a 16-year-old teenager, attacked a 15-year-old opponent playing for JFC Berlin, inflicting multiple blows to the head.

The teenager had no chance of surviving, but he was kept on a ventilator because his organs could be donated to others. Metz Football Club said in a statement that he was “deeply shocked by the tragedy”. In addition, it was written that the perpetrator of the fuss denied that he intentionally injured the opponent from the field. However, there is no information about the identity of the perpetrator or his nationality. The club prides itself on giving young players from all over the world the opportunity to play.
Police investigation into fatal beating in Frankfurt
The Metz club assisted the German investigators in their investigation. The aggressor was immediately detained and taken to a juvenile colony. Police are still looking for other witnesses to the incident.
