Those Ukrainians who are forced to look for work in Germany should pay attention to seasonal types of work, for example, in agriculture or in the tourism industry.
The list of the most popular seasonal vacancies in Germany was compiled by specialists from the international money transfer service TransferGo.
In the list (according to the level of demand in the market):
-
harvester;
-
seller, cashier;
-
cook, waiter, hotel administrator (tourism and gastronomy);
-
promoter.
Typically, the working day for seasonal workers lasts 8 hours a day. Periodically, it can be continued up to 10 hours a day, but between two changes there is usually an 11-hour rest.
Employment contract
In Germany, an employer is not required to conclude a written employment contract from the first working day. Instead of this document, agreements concluded with the employer orally or by e-mail may apply. Also, there is no early termination of the contract, if the contract does not specify a specific clause on this matter. The employee and the employer must fulfill the conditions until the document expires.
The employer must provide the employee with working conditions (in writing) no later than one month after employment. So the employee must always demand a written employment contract.
Salary
The country has a minimum wage that applies to all agricultural workers.
So, from July 1, 2022, the minimum rate has increased to 10.45 euros. That is, with a standard working week of 40 hours and 22 working days per month, the minimum German salary will be approximately 1646 euros.
Recall that in early April, Ukrainians continued free travel by train from Poland to Germany.
