Ukraine without communication: what is known about the problems with the mobile network in the country

After the Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure in Kyiv and in all regions of Ukraine, there are communication problems.

In particular, as the company said KyivstarDue to the lack of power supply in most regions of Ukraine, there is a difficult situation with the operation of mobile networks of all operators, and not just Kyivstar.

“But Kyivstar uses all technical possibilities in order to reduce the impact of outages on the network. Now, to support the operation of the network, where possible, up to 260 mobile and about 400 stationary generators are involved, all the teams of our company and contractors are constantly working on the road with more than 100 vehicles regularly delivering fuel in all regions. In just one day, we used more than 60,000 liters of fuel.” – said in the company.

In turn, the company LifeCel said that they also observe problems with mobile communications throughout Ukraine.

“We support key sites on generators, we deliver fuel, we do everything we can,” a representative of the mobile operator said.

According to Kyivstar, a full-fledged upgrade of mobile networks will take place gradually along with the resumption of power supply. LifeCell also noted that the resumption of communication depends on the power supply.

At the same time, the Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov said in his Telegram channel that mobile communications are already gradually being restored. The best situation with the work of base stations in Vinnitsa, Zakarpattia, Lviv, Rivne, Sumy, Cherkasy and Chernivtsi regions.

In Kherson, Kharkiv, Kirovograd, Poltava and Nikolaev regions, difficulties in work remain.

“Power engineers are working non-stop to restore electricity as quickly as possible. Along with it, the connection is gradually returning. Telecom companies pointwise continue to work on generators, dozens of which we have transferred earlier,” Fedorov noted.

Recall that earlier the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that power engineers, public utilities, the State Emergency Service will work around the clock in order to restore the country after another attack by Putinists.
