This was announced in an interview with the Sieci weekly by Polish Minister of National Defense Mariusz Blaszczak, Wpolityce.pl reports.
As Blaszczak stressed, the Polish army must be large and strong enough to scare off the aggressor. He stressed that the Kremlin will not dare to attack the strong, they will attack when they see the weakness of the other side.
Both in terms of artillery and in terms of armored forces, in the end there will not be the strongest country in Europe. We will have the strongest ground forces among the European NATO countries,” Blaszczak stressed, emphasizing that Poland, bordering Russia in the north and Belarus in the east, is actually “on the front line”.
He also noted that Poland is building a multi-stage air defense system of the country. In particular, this year Warsaw will receive Patriot air defense systems ordered from the United States in 2018, compatible with the British Sky Saber short-range air defense systems.
Earlier, Poland finally agreed to the entry of Sweden and Finland into NATO - President Andrzej Duda signed laws on the ratification of the entry of these two countries into the North Atlantic Alliance.
