When it premiered in 2009, Parks and recreation quickly became one of the funniest and most rewarding sitcoms of the 21st century. This show, about a group of colorful low-level civil servants trying to keep their small town afloat, has been praised by fans and critics for its sweet tone and surprisingly likable characters.
The employees of the Pawnee Parks Department are endlessly nice people. They are all equally memorable and hilarious characters who have formed strong bonds and relationships over the course of seven seasons. The range of appeal of each is off the charts as they help add to the welcoming atmosphere of the show.
10 Tom Haverford
Tom Haverford (Aziz Ansari) dreams of a rich and luxurious life, dreaming of someday becoming a successful entrepreneur. However, his cockiness, poor financial decisions, and lousy business ventures account for his failures, causing him to continually return to his dead-end job at the Park Department.
There’s nothing wrong with having big dreams, and it’s strange to see Tom never give up on achieving his goals. However, if he had learned to be less reckless and impatient, he might have been more successful sooner. Luckily, he found his happy ending by accepting his past mistakes in order to become more wise and experienced.
9 Ben Wyatt
In his youth, Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott) his reputation and career in government were tarnished when he bankrupted his small town after becoming mayor. Years later, he made it his mission to reclaim his honor while helping make Pawnee a better place to live.
Ben wanted to prove that he could handle more government responsibilities, and initially started out as a cold and heartless accountant whose job required him to decide who to fire. However, one day he joined the Parks Department and began a relationship with Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler), he realized the value of helping people and positively influencing society. Gradually, he became Leslie’s most ardent supporter and eventually even married her.

He is accident prone and is never respected in the workplace. However, despite all his shortcomings, he still manages to get through the day, maintain a positive attitude, and return home to his beautiful family.
What’s good about Jerry is that he perseveres and never lets adversity ruin his happiness. Even when the whole world looks at him like a punching bag, he smiles and sees the bright side of his day. By the end of the show’s finale, he remained strong and happy, even living a long life and becoming one of the most popular mayors in Pawnee history.

She is a very independent woman who always knows how to fend for herself and takes matters into her own hands. By the end of the series, she stayed true to her values, became more compassionate towards her friends, and even calmed down after having many romantic partners throughout the series.
6 Chris Traeger
Super positive, health-conscious city manager Chris Traeger (Rob Lowe) is one of the most friendly and pleasant men. He has an energetic attitude that can inspire anyone who is feeling down and always tries to brighten up any day with his charming and likeable personality.
Chris literally sees everyone as his best friend. He gets along well with people, rarely expresses negative feelings towards those he interacts with, and avoids confrontation whenever possible. His only flaw is that he masks his insecurities about death and illness, which sometimes come to the surface, turning him into a nervous breakdown. However, through interaction with Parks Department staff, he learns to overcome his fears and be happy.
5 Ann Perkins
Ann Perkins (ur.Rashida Jones) is one of the best friends in the world. She is supportive, tries to get along with her friends and helps them solve their problems or overcome any situation that bothers them. Her desire to help the people of Pawnee led to her strong friendship with her best friend Leslie, and they became almost inseparable. Their bonding was one of the most important parts of the show, and while Ann sadly left in the sixth season, she did reappear several times in the final season, showing that her and Leslie’s friendship would never end.
4 Ron Swanson
Ron SwansonNick Offerman) hates everything connected with the modern world. Technology, government, diet, and society in general are all he tries to avoid on a daily basis, as he works as a park director solely to overthrow the bureaucracy from within.
Ron is a serious guy who never sweats and always knows what he’s doing. Even though he hates his job and socializing with people, he cares about his friends in the parks department and lets go of his reserved personality from time to time to show his true fun feelings whenever he is around them.
3 April Ludgate
April LudgateAubrey Plaza) she cares the least about her job or anything like that.
