New Lead Pair Connects to Disney Throne: Ares opposite Jared Leto and recently announced Evan Peters. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Greta Lee signed up for the film, while Variety reports that Jody Turner-Smith will join her. Smith’s role details have not been released, but Lee will play a technology CEO and video game designer put on the run in an attempt to protect their revolutionary technology.
Lee enters the Disney production having just played a huge role in this year’s mega-popular romance film. past lives which is still considered one of the best films of the year. Smith, meanwhile, has flared up since 2019. Queen and Slim which quickly made her one of Hollywood’s rising stars. Now she’s set to star in the upcoming star Wars row Acolyte as a power user together Amandla Stenberg And Lee Jung Jae. Like Lee, she is also pulling out of some bigger roles, especially in Murder Mystery 2A24 After Yang, White noiseand a nomination for the NAACP Image Award for the role of the titled Ann Boleyn in the AMC miniseries.
Throne: Ares intends to continue the legacy Throne franchise that started back in 1982 with the original film starring Jeff Bridges as computer engineer Kevin Flynn, who is transported into the world of his creation and joins forces with Tron (Bruce Boxleitner) in the digital realm. Despite initially being a flop for Disney, it remained a cult hit and eventually got the chance to shine again. Throne Legacy starring Garrett Hedlund And Olivia Wilde opposite the returning bridges. The plot of the third film is still being kept under wraps.
Who is doing Throne: Ares?
Path for Throne: Ares was not easy, although things are starting to improve with the involvement of more actors. Filming should start soon, with SAG-AFTRA expected to go on strike. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil helmet Joachim Ronning set to lead the project. Jessie Wigutow writing the script for the film, while Leto will be the producer in addition to starring.
