It’s been a week since then yellow jackets Season 2 ended on Showtime, but fans weren’t quite ready to let go of that series of episodes. When a movement began to form on social media last night to wait until the clock struck midnight in case a surprise episode was revealed, the series creator Ashley Lyle decided to give people a night’s rest send everyone to sleep with good and bad news.
The good news is that there really is a bonus episode. yellow jackets goes our way. The bad news is that Lyle didn’t say anything when this episode aired. The showrunner revealed that the bonus episode will be the link between seasons 2 and 3, which could mean it could take a few weeks to release.

Of course, Lyle also didn’t reveal what we can expect from the upcoming episode, but it could very well be centered around a cast that was announced back in December but never actually appeared onscreen: Jason Ritter (Dion’s upbringing). Since the actor is the main star Melanie Lynskeyhusband - did not appear in any of the nine episodes, most likely we will see him in the upcoming bonus episode.
There’s also the possibility that this new episode deviates from the series’ format, as the show’s creators decided to separate it from the rest of the series. It could be presented from another character’s point of view, or maybe refer to some of the mysteries and events that took place in last week’s season finale. In any case, we’ll have to wait until Lyle or Bart Nickerson break their radio silence again so we can find out.
yellow jackets tells the story of a group of girls who manage to survive a plane crash in the middle of a forest in the mid-90s. At the same time, he follows a group that managed to escape this forest, but they refuse to reveal to the world what happened while they were stranded. Season 2 revealed to viewers some heartbreaking plot elements that have long been part of fan speculation, and the upcoming season 3, which was halted a day after it began production, is sure to take the series into even darker places.
