Margot Robbie will be responsible for the image of the title doll in a village inhabited only by Barbies and Kens. An analogue of her version of the character will play Ryan Gosling, forming an ideal couple in an ideal city. However, everything will change one fateful day, when Barbie begins to doubt her mortality and purpose in life. Her questions won’t be well received in her community, given that everyone is having a great day all over again. She has to find out if there is more to this life than days at the beach and impromptu musical numbers.
Her quest will force her to leave her home as she ventures into the human world to find answers. Unfortunately for her, Ken is on a journey and the couple must learn how to survive in an ordinary city where danger can lurk around every corner. There they will cross paths with the CEO of Mattel, played by a very energetic Will Ferrell. The CEO will be extremely surprised by the fact that Barbie is real and will do everything in his power to prevent the truth from coming out. Barbie and Ken have their roller skates ready in case something goes wrong.

Warner Bros. knew they needed to put on a huge spectacle by showing one of the biggest films of the summer, so they founded the world Barbie around big movie musicals. One of the most important aspects of the films mentioned was the colorful sets, and the decision to build Barbie’s house instead of creating it with digital images will allow viewers to see a more believable image when Barbie will be released in theaters on July 21st. It remains to be seen if Barbie will get the answers she so desperately needs, or if she’ll just have to accept her fate and party like there’s no tomorrow forever.
